Deka Laser Therapy
DEKA QuietNite™ Snore-Laser Therapy
A gentle, non-surgical way to reduce snoring—no needles, no downtime.
What it is
DEKA QuietNite uses a soft-tissue laser to gently heat and firm tissues at the back of the throat. By reducing vibration and collapse, it can lower snoring intensity and support a more stable airway during sleep. Visits are quick and comfortable.
Who it can help
- Primary snoring (with or without mild sleep-disordered breathing)
- Bed partners disturbed by nightly noise
- Patients who prefer a non-device option or a combo approach with an oral appliance
- CPAP users looking to reduce residual snoring
If we suspect obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), we’ll recommend home sleep testing first. Laser therapy isn’t a cure for OSA; when apnea is present we coordinate physician-directed care and may combine laser with oral appliance therapy or other treatments.
How treatment works
- Screening & plan – Airway-focused exam; sleep testing ordered when appropriate.
- Series of sessions – Typically 3–5 visits, spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
- Comfort first – Protective glasses; most patients feel gentle warmth only; no injections or sutures.
- Re-evaluation – Feedback from you/your bed partner; re-testing when we’re tracking sleep data.
- Maintenance – Optional single-visit touch-ups (~6–12 months) based on results.
What you may notice
- Quieter nights and fewer awakenings
- Less morning throat dryness
- Better tolerance of oral appliances (when used together)
- In combo plans: measurable improvement on follow-up home sleep testing
Safety & aftercare
- No downtime; you can return to normal activities immediately.
- Mild temporary throat warmth/dryness is possible for 24–48 hours—hydrate well and avoid very hot/spicy foods that day.
- We follow manufacturer guidelines and screen for contraindications.
How it fits with other airway care
- With oral appliances (MADs): laser helps reduce residual snoring while the appliance stabilizes the airway.
- With expansion/aligners: expansion addresses structure (tongue space/nasal airflow); laser helps with soft-tissue vibration.
- With CPAP: can help reduce “around-the-mask” snoring.
FAQs
Will this cure sleep apnea? No. It reduces snoring. When apnea is present, we pair laser with physician-directed therapy and/or dental sleep appliances.
How many sessions? Most people complete 3–5 visits, then maintenance as needed.
Does it hurt? Most feel gentle warmth only.
How fast are results? Some notice changes after the first or second visit; best results are usually after completing the series.
Notes: Sleep studies are interpreted by a board-certified sleep physician. CBCT helps inform
dental airway care and is not a diagnostic test for OSA. We follow ALARA radiation principles.
